Sony's PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary Edition Revealed - Features 'Retro Look'

In commemoration of its 20th ceremony, Sony has unveiled a new custom PS4 design which matches the original PlayStation Ane end to commemorate the initial launch of the franchise. The limited edition PlayStation 4 consists of 12,300 units sold worldwide which itself is a number symbolizing the launch engagement of the panel and will be available for pre-social club in the US and Europe, priced at $499 and €499 respectively.

Bringing Back the Retro Gaming Nostalgia - PS4 Anniversary Edition

Once over again, Sony appealed to the nostalgia of its customers and in a public address on its blog, reviving the story of how they reproduced their dream of the Sony's PlayStation. The mail reads:

"Hello PlayStation.Blog readers! Today is a very special moment in our history. Information technology's been xx years since the launch of the original PlayStation, which released in Japan on December tertiary, 1994. It seems like simply yesterday! I'one thousand so glad that nosotros can celebrate this moment together.

20 years is a long time! In 1994, many outsiders thought that Sony was slightly crazy to launch the original PlayStation into an incredibly competitive gaming market. Who could blame them? Sony was (and is!) famous for engineering great electronics, sound equipment, and many other consumer devices. But game consoles?!

Sony Figurer Entertainment, founded by my mentor Ken Kutaragi, was a projection borne out of sincere passion and deep admiration for the craft of game evolution. The mid 90s were an exciting time for game developers, driven by the explosion of powerful merely affordable 3D graphics rendering hardware and the birth of many immature and audacious development studios. The original PlayStation was meant to embody that sense of hazard and discovery, that sense that anything was possible.

We sincerely thank yous for joining u.s.a. on our exciting 20-year journeying. Y'all take made every bump and scrape nosotros took along the fashion worthwhile. And in that location's so much more to come up! 😀

The entire panel, including the packaging and accessories will come in an 'Original Greyness' color along with a new anniversary theme available to download for all, which will draw the feel of the original PlayStation.
